If you are
unfamiliar with windows, window options, terminologies, and window
benefits, choosing the right window may be harder than you had
hoped. Too often, the only exposure you get to windows is from
the salesperson(s) who comes to your home. Once all the different
salespeople leave your home, it’s up to you to organize
all the information and make the “right” choice.
Using this technique to select the best windows is decidedly
not in your favor.
If you can determine beforehand more precisely what you are looking for,
how much you want to invest, and what you will expect from your windows,
time spent talking to salespeople will be much more productive for you.
Most windows will “last” twenty years or more, but that does
not necessarily mean that they will perform well for that long. Having
a twenty year “relationship” with the wrong windows will
not be a pleasant experience.
How you answer
the following questions should help you to better determine
your specific needs and expectations from new windows. It should
also make your time spent looking at windows more informative
and interesting. “1” is LEAST; “5” is
MOST.
